Faculty Council: Business and Economics Nominee
Hello, everyone! I’m Xinlei, and I’ve been living in Australia as an international student for seven years now. Over the years, I’ve felt the weight of the challenges we face – the stress of keeping up with studies, the adjustment to life here, and the strain on our mental and physical health. I know how frustrating it is to wait in long lines at Union Mart or struggle with the lack of essential health and hygiene products in the uni, especially when we’re under pressure.
If elected as your Health and Welfare Officer, my goal is to drive meaningful improvements to make better life for students, focusing on:
1. Expanding the Union Market and Food Relief Program: By collaborating with both university and external partners, we aim to ensure food aid reaches more students in need.
2. Enhancing Access to Health and Hygiene Products: I will advocate for better availability of essential health and female hygiene products, ensuring students can easily access them when needed.
3. Promoting Mental Health and Stress Relief: I will introduce free, accessible activities with university sport centre, such as yoga, meditation, and art therapy workshops to help students manage stress effectively.
We are all working hard to live a better life, but this shouldn’t be a journey we face alone. If you believe in making our campus a more supportive and caring place for everyone, please support me. Together, we can create positive change!
