We know SWOTVAC is a stressful time for graduate students, and we’re here to help make life a little easier.
GSA are running a variety of events during SWOTVAC, June 2nd – June 6th, including FREE Food, Wellness Classes and more.

The 1888 Building will also remain open as usual during SWOTVAC, providing graduate students with facilities and study spaces.

GSA is working with MU Sports staff to provide FREE massages to help you relax during SWOTVAC. Hot Tea and light refreshments will be provided.

There is no need to book, simply visit the 1888 Building during 5-7pm

Join us for a special Lunch Social SWOTVAC edition.  Lawn games are free for all to enjoy, so please drop by for some fun. Tickets will be released 48 hours before the event (12pm on Monday 2nd June)

Afternoon Social
Oct 24th, 11am: 1888 Building Front Lawn

The perfect way to de-stress during SWOTVAC! Join GSA for a pat and play with adorable therapy dogs. Therapy animals can provide social, emotional and physiological benefits during positive interactions with people and our besties from Miracle Paws. There will also be FREE Crepes from our friends at Crepes For Change.
 

 

Southbank Creative Movement
June 5th, 6.30pm: Red Studio 3, Southbank Campus

The Creative Movement Workshop is tailored for postgraduate students who are looking for a creative outlet through which they can explore different facets of themselves and life themes through the expressive art form of Dance and Drama.
 

 

Crafting Session
June 6th, 2.00 - 4.00pm: Gryphon Gallery

Join us for a special SWOTVAC crafting session! We'll be making pom poms and there will be pencils if you prefer to colour instead - the perfect way to relax and unwind during the busy study period. There will also be FREE Cupcakes to enjoy too.
 

 

Dance Exploration Class
June 6th, 3.30pm : Dance Studio 304, 757 Swanston Street

Release your exam stress via the expressive dance style called 'Lyrical' in this SWOT VAC dance class from GSA.

Lyrical dance is a form that pulls inspiration from jazz, ballet, acrobatics and other techniques using lyrics from songs that allow a dancer to express strong emotions through dance moves. 

 

 

Study Support at the 1888 Building

Looking for a place to study on campus? The 1888 Building has a number of facilities and study rooms for graduate students. 

The 1888 Building is open from 8am – 11pm, during SWOTVAC week. Our front desk is manned from 9am – 5pm as normal business hours. Please Note: You will need your student card to access the building outside of business ours.

  •  Students can book private rooms via DiBS at the 1888 building to get work done or work in small groups.
  • There are also multiple shared study spaces across all floors of the 1888 building, Please check the map for locations.
  • Rooms 101 and 141 in the 1888 Building has also been specially booked for SWOTVAC for a quiet study space.
  • Kitchen facilities with microwaves, fridges, boiling water and filtered water. Use them to keep your drinks cold, make yourself some coffee or tea, or warm up your home-made meal.
  • A table with hot water and different varieties of herbal tea outside GSA reception from 9.30am – 4.30pm. BYO Cup
