We know SWOTVAC is a stressful time for graduate students, and we’re here to help make life a little easier.
GSA are running a variety of events during SWOTVAC, June 2nd – June 6th, including FREE Food, Wellness Classes and more.
The 1888 Building will also remain open as usual during SWOTVAC, providing graduate students with facilities and study spaces.

GSA is working with MU Sports staff to provide FREE massages to help you relax during SWOTVAC. Hot Tea and light refreshments will be provided.
There is no need to book, simply visit the 1888 Building during 5-7pm

Dance Exploration Class
Lyrical dance is a form that pulls inspiration from jazz, ballet, acrobatics and other techniques using lyrics from songs that allow a dancer to express strong emotions through dance moves.
Study Support at the 1888 Building
Looking for a place to study on campus? The 1888 Building has a number of facilities and study rooms for graduate students.
The 1888 Building is open from 8am – 11pm, during SWOTVAC week. Our front desk is manned from 9am – 5pm as normal business hours. Please Note: You will need your student card to access the building outside of business ours.
- Students can book private rooms via DiBS at the 1888 building to get work done or work in small groups.
- There are also multiple shared study spaces across all floors of the 1888 building, Please check the map for locations.
- Rooms 101 and 141 in the 1888 Building has also been specially booked for SWOTVAC for a quiet study space.
- Kitchen facilities with microwaves, fridges, boiling water and filtered water. Use them to keep your drinks cold, make yourself some coffee or tea, or warm up your home-made meal.
- A table with hot water and different varieties of herbal tea outside GSA reception from 9.30am – 4.30pm. BYO Cup
