Ready to submit your artwork?

Please ensure you have read the terms and conditions thoroughly before entering into the Graduate Art Prize. Failure to comply will result in disqualification.

Only digital copies of artworks will be accepted. If your artwork does not meet the A2 size requirement it may be cropped in the printing process OR disqualified due to low quality. 

  • Minimum artwork upload dimensions are 1190 x 1683px (or equivalent to A2: 420 x 594 mm)
  • Minimum quality 300dpi
  • Can be landscape or portrait

Artist Statement:

  • Your artist statement must be 170 words max

File types:

  • We accept file types of JPG, JPEG, PNG
  • Maximum file upload of 10mb

Please ensure that you are submitting a clear photograph of your work as we will be displaying these in printed A2 format for the awards night, on our website and in a digital brochure.

GSA takes no responsibility for artwork that is not submitted in high quality. Your artwork will be printed in A2 format.

      • Minimum dimensions: 1500 x 2200px
      • Minimum quality: 300dpi
      • Maximum size: 10MB
      • Allowed format types: png, jpg, jpeg

We recommend a file size between 500KB and 5MB, saved as a compressed high-quality jpg. The image width of large pieces should be about 1900px.

Working files upload (optional)

To streamline the pre-selection process, please upload any working files that demonstrate you created your artwork.

Examples include;

  • Photos taken while painting or making your piece.
  • If submitting a photograph, you can provide additional images from the same location or photoshoot.
  • For digital artwork, consider uploading the working files.

This step is optional. However, if you don't provide proof of creating your artwork, you may be contacted during pre-selection to supply it quickly. If you can't upload your working files due to size restrictions, please email them to artprize@gsa.unimelb.edu.au after submitting your application.

Entry into the GSA Graduate Art Prize 2024 is restricted to currently enrolled University of Melbourne graduate students.

By entering the GSA Art Prize, you are agreeing to abide by the Terms and Conditions and Entry Requirements (see above).
