Join us in-person OR online for GSA's weekly Shut Up & Write sessions! These are intensive sessions focusing on generative writing.

Shut Up & Write sessions are part of a worldwide movement.

They’re regular, structured social writing sessions, designed to overcome research student isolation while helping you beat procrastination. Graduate students can use these sessions to write well and write together, providing moral support and motivation.

We are running regular weekly sessions throughout the semester which will be a great support for study and will help you beat procrastination. Weekly sessions are on alternate Thursdays and Fridays.

Sessions are hybrid and snacks are provided to those who attend in-person. Remember to choose the correct ticket type (online or in-person) so you will receive the Zoom link (for online).

In-person sessions are held in Room 102, Level 1 of the 1888 Building (Building 198).

We use the Pomodoro Technique (25 minutes writing with 5-minute breaks) and teach the generative method to make sessions as productive as possible. You can work on anything you like, but you must be writing.
