As a student with a family and an international student from a country underrepresented in the GSA representative framework, I understand the unique challenges faced by graduate students balancing academic, financial, and family responsibilities. If elected as Families Officer, I will advocate for expanding childcare support and subsidies to ensure that parents can focus on their studies without undue financial stress. I will also continue the family-friendly events currently offered by GSA, fostering a stronger sense of community among student parents. Additionally, I will explore more financial aid options and mental health resources tailored to students with dependents, recognizing the importance of both economic stability and emotional well-being. My goal is to ensure that all students with families feel supported, included, and empowered to succeed at the University of Melbourne.
