Xinlei Qi Health and Welfare Officer
(she/her)
Xinlei is a Master of Management (Marketing) student at the University of Melbourne and currently serves as an International Student Ambassador. With an academic background in cross-cultural studies, she previously pursued in-depth research on Asia-Pacific culture, gender, and media at the Australian National University. Her academic and personal experiences have shaped a strong commitment to student wellbeing, particularly in areas such as mental health, identity, and equitable access to resources for students from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Xinlei is passionate about communication and connection. She values listening, understanding, and building bridges across communities—qualities that enable her to deeply understand the lived experiences of culturally diverse students in Australian universities. She is especially aware of the structural challenges students face, including housing pressure, high living costs, inadequate health support, and limited opportunities for meaningful participation in university governance.
She is actively advocating for more transparent and responsive student-focused policies, pushing for fairer resource distribution and improved student health coverage. Xinlei strongly believes that true student wellbeing is not only about access to resources, but also about being seen, heard, and genuinely supported within the campus community.
If you are aware of any issue affecting the health and welfare of graduate students, feel free to reach out and work together for a better student experience.
