Wei Liang Lee Engineering and IT

(he/him)

Wei Liang demonstrates a clear passion for student engagement and leadership, evident from his time as an undergraduate student at Taylor’s University, Malaysia. He served as both vice president of the Student Council and president of the Nature Club. His commitment extended further with active participation in the Orientation Leaders and Talent Management Programme. There, he played a key role in planning and executing university-wide engagement events for over 1,000 students. These experiences undoubtedly strengthened his leadership qualities, communication skills, and ability to organise and motivate others.

Currently pursuing his second year of master’s in information systems at the University of Melbourne, he is keen to leverage his experience to drive advocacies and foster engagement within the Faculty of Engineering and IT. As a Faculty Councillor, his key areas of focus include:

· Actively representing FEIT postgraduate students in faculty discussions and decision-making, ensuring their concerns and needs are heard loud and clear.

· Working closely with students to identify and address specific challenges faced within the Faculty, finding practical solutions that benefit everyone.

· Building strong relationships with the GSA board to guarantee FEIT postgraduate voices are heard in university-wide decisions affecting their programmes.
