Rachel McKellar First Nations Officer
(she/her)
I am a Kooma woman from southwest Queensland in my final year of the Doctor of Medicine. I completed a Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics and worked in Townsville as a dietitian before going on to work in a mental health role supporting First Nations clients. These experiences have shaped my passion for health, education, and equality.
Throughout my academic and professional journey, I’ve experienced firsthand how the rising cost of living and lack of culturally safe support structures make it harder for mob to not only access but thrive in tertiary education. I believe every First Nations student should have the opportunity to succeed without sacrificing their wellbeing, culture, or community. I’m here to listen, to act, and to make sure our voices are heard.
