Farnaz Pirasteh Engineering and IT

Farnaz Pirasteh is a current PhD student at the School of Computing and Information Systems, working on Social Media Analysis. She is very passionate about representing and advocating for students’ needs. Her dedication to student leadership began in high school, where She served as student council president, and has grown ever since. During her 10 years in South Korea, where she completed her master’s degree, she actively participated in various university and community activities. She established first Iranian Community in South Korea, creating a platform to address student and community members’ concerns and relay them to city authorities. This experience honed her communication and management skills, enabling her to bridge the gap between individuals and the broader society effectively. Her ability to identify and address issues has consistently made her a trusted and proactive representative.

As someone actively engaged with students in the Faculty of Engineering and IT, she has built strong connections and developed a deep understanding of their needs and concerns. Regularly interacting with her peers has strengthened her ability to listen, empathize, and advocate on their behalf. She is committed to ensuring that every student’s voice is heard, and that their academic and personal challenges are addressed with care and efficiency. She is excited about the prospect of serving as a bridge between students and decision- makers, fostering inclusively, and driving meaningful change within our faculty.
