An update from the GSA President: August 2024
Dear Graduate Students,
I hope your studies are going well!
It was wonderful to see so many of you at GSA’s 30th Birthday celebration. I hope you had a fantastic time!
This past month, GSA has been busy preparing for the annual Graduate Art Prize, and we appreciate everyone who submitted their work. I’m beyond excited to meet the talented artists behind these creations at the upcoming ceremony at the end of the month. In the meantime, I invite you to check out this year’s impressive submissions and vote for the People’s Choice Award, one of several awards where the winner will receive a monetary prize.
As we head further into the semester, with its inevitable stresses, I would like to also encourage you to take some time for yourself and join us at our various wellbeing sessions, including the new Music Expression Sessions, Reggaeton Dance Class and more. Not to mention the Breakfast and Lunch Socials are always around!
Lastly, I’m excited to introduce our new First Nations Officer, Justin Wilkey. As a PhD candidate in the School of Education with extensive experience in his field, Justin is well-equipped to make a positive impact on our graduate student community. We’re looking forward to the great work he’ll be doing ahead.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to email me at president@gsa.unimelb.edu.au.
Yours sincerely,
Ethan Chou
