OCULUS

Around 10% of Australians aged 55 or more suffer from blindness or visual impairment. With our ageing population and the ever rising rates of diabetes, this prevalence is expected to rise. We aim to unfold the world of ophthalmology in a coherent and simple manner, and unravel the complexity of the human eye with the goal of expanding student interest, engagement and awareness in an important and prevalent medical issue in our society. OCULUS aims to introduce students to the world of ophthalmology through various talks and practical sessions. We also aim to provide students with the opportunity to connect with current Ophthalmology professionals, gain experience from newly matched residents, and get exposure to using medical equipment like slit lamps and ophthalmoscopes.
