Board Member:
Hi everyone, I’m Ezra and I am running for the position of Member of the Board. Since I started university in 2017, I have gained extended experience with many parts of the university. These includes being an executive committee member of university clubs, volunteering director for UMSU Host Program, and a student representative for a couple of the University faculty’s Teaching and Learning committee meetings. I love being part of the University of Melbourne and I have come back to complete further study as a part-time student. Thus, I would love to represent you and contribute to the university community that will provide a positive experience and quality graduate education for all students.
My focus will be on creating a positive work relationship with other board members and different bodies within the university. But most importantly, I aim to ensure that graduate students’ perspectives are heard and considered within all university’s decision-making and working groups. Education (Coursework) Officer:
Hi everyone, I’m Ezra and I’m hoping to represent you as the Education (Coursework) Officer. I started university in 2017 as an international student and I’ve met a diverse range of people throughout my degree. I have met people from different backgrounds and completing different courses, both undergraduate and graduate courses. Furthermore, I have been a committee member for multiple faculty clubs, and a student representative for a faculty’s Teaching and Learning committee.
I believe that this role requires someone who understands both the difficulty that students face and how the university system works. If elected to this position, I will ensure that all students’ voice is heard while working together with the university in providing the best outcomes for students. As someone who is currently working full-time as a high school teacher, I understand the difficulties that graduate students face in maintaining their study-work-life balance. At the same time, my experience demonstrates my ability to improve the academic outcomes of in an education setting. Science Faculty Representative:
Hi everyone, I’m Ezra and I’m hoping to represent you as the Science Faculty representative. I came to Australia in 2017 and completed a Bachelor of Science majoring in Psychology and I am currently working full-time as a high school teacher and studying part time in the Graduate Diploma in Data Science. My experience will allow me to provide key perspectives of the struggles that students might face, whether being a new international student, difficulty in managing study-work-life balance, or engaging with the university community. I have experience working with the university committees and faculty clubs. Thus, I understand how to communicate students’ voices into key actions that the university can do to improve students’ experience.
I have studied a range of different subjects, from Psychology, Mathematics, Physics, and Computing subjects. I believe this will allow me to provide unique perspectives of while actively listening to other students who have longer experience within the each of these subjects.
