Get job ready for 2024 with GSA’s Transition to Employment Workshops.

GSA is hosting a series of workshops that deep-dive into how to best transition from study to the workforce.
These workshops are held during Semester 1 and the mid-year break to get you geared up for a new job in 2024.

There are three streams to choose from: 
  • Workshops for international students 
  • Workshops for professionals
  • Workshops for academics

Each program involves intensive workshops covering everything you need to transition into employment including career planning, CV writing, leveraging LinkedIn, labour market trends, market research, recruitment tactics and interview training.

There are limited numbers to these workshops so first in, first served.

Learning outcomes 

Each workshop will explore the following topics, where you will receive resources and tactics on: 

  • Planning your career 
  • Personal branding 
  • CV writing 
  • Using LinkedIn for career development
  • Cover letters and selection criteria 
  • Recruitment tactics 
  • Interview training

Each International Student workshop involves
either 4 x 2.5 hour sessions or 2 x 4.5 hour sessions.

To complete the workshop you must attend ALL sessions.

Thursday, 11th April: 2pm – 4.30pm

Wednesday, 26th June 10am – 2:30pm AND
Wednesday, 3rd July 10am – 2.30pm 

Professionals

This Transition to Employment workshop program is for students with prior full-time work experience who are looking to change careers, get a promotion or re-enter the workforce.

International Students

This Transition to Employment workshop program is for international students who want to secure their first full-time job in Australia after the completion of their studies.

Academics

This Transition to Employment workshop program is for PhD candidates or graduate researchers looking for a role in academia or clinical research.
