*Ski gear hire includes 1-day hire of skis, boots, poles and helmet from MUSKI, which is normally $55.

  • Bus transportation to and from Mount Buller

  • 2 hour Beginner Ski Lessons

  • Lift Pass to 3 beginner areas

Tickets are just $120 – that’s more than 50% off the full price of $243!

Tickets do not include:

  • Food and drinks – GSA will provide light snacks, but lunch and a more substantial dinner stop on the way back is not included. You can bring your own snacks and water or you can also purchase from the store in Mount Buller.

  • Ski gear hire – Skis, boots, poles and helmet are to be hired through MUSKI for an additional $45 CASH before the trip, or you can bring your own equipment if you have them.

  • Waterproof clothing – Waterproof jackets and pants are strongly recommended – snow can soak through your clothes quickly, and staying dry helps you enjoy the day without getting too cold or uncomfortable.

FAQs

  • Can my friend/partner come to the ski trip with me? If your friend/partner is also a postgraduate student of Unimelb, they can buy a ticket and attend the ski trip with you. If they are NOT a currently Unimelb postgraduate student, they CANNOT attend the trip. Postgraduate status will be checked, and UoM Student ID will be checked on the day of the trip. If a non-unimelb postgraduate student buys a ticket, their ticket may not be refunded.
  • Can I bring my own skis/snowboard? Yes, that is fine. Please also ensure you have all the other equipment like poles, boots, helmets and waterproof clothing. If you do not have them, you can hire from MUSKI.
  • How do I hire skis with MUSKI? Once you have paid for your ticket, MUSKI will email all attendees to advise the date and time for the ski gear fitting. Please look out for an email from them after 23 June 2025.
  • What other clothing/footwear should I wear for the trip? Besides warm clothing, waterproof jackets, pants and thick socks are a must. Thermals are recommended if it is below 2 degrees. Goggles and waterproof gloves are not compulsory but are highly recommended for comfort and safety.

  • I don’t want to ski OR need the learn to ski lessons. Can I get a reduced-price ticket? Unfortunately no. We only have one ticket type to keep the cost down and don’t have separate pricing for people who don’t plan to ski or use beginner ski lessons. As the vast majority of the attendees are beginner skiers, we have packaged up a great experience with good value for grad students.

There are limited tickets – book your tickets now so you don’t miss out!
