Ever made music with marigold or listened to lavender? Play these unique organic instruments. Make music by day & watch them glow by night!
For the first time, Playable Streets brings their experimental Musical Plants installation to campus, living instruments that blend nature with digital innovation. Touch leaves, trigger sounds, and create spontaneous compositions in a one-of-a-kind, collaborative musical experience.
Swelling with textural waves and phasing rhythmic movement, The Musical Plants will be unlike any musical instrument you have ever seen, heard or played.
From 1pm – 6pm, on the front lawn of the 1888 Building, the installation invites postgrad students to play, be amazed, and connect through sound.
Registration is necessary so we can guage crowd size and inform you if there are any changes to locations in case of bad weather.
As the sun sets, the installation transforms. UV glow and LED lighting effects bring the plants to life in a luminous display of sound and light.
If you wish to interact with the Musical Plants in the evening with the glow of lights, you also have to register for the evening event, “A Warm Welcome”.
