GSA is providing postgraduate students of UoM with FREE online yoga classes every Monday evening - start your week on a positive note!

Need a little motivation to start your week off right? We have you covered.

GSA is providing University of Melbourne graduate students with free yoga classes all semester! There is no limit to how many classes you can attend, and all classes will be suitable for both beginners, and those with a little more experience.

Classes will be delivered online, so you can join from the comfort of your own space. The class Zoom link will be provided in your confirmation email, and the event reminder email from Eventbrite prior to the start of your selected session. Please make sure you check your junk inbox!

All you need is a space to stretch out, a yoga mat and water bottle. Although hosted in Zoom, there is no pressure to have your camera on.

There are two teachers for these online sessions who will alternate every week so you get a different style/variety of poses to do during the class. More information about the yoga teachers below.

You will also be asked to include your student ID number and UoM email when registering. Orders made that do not include a UoM student email and ID will be cancelled.

ABOUT YOUR YOGA TEACHERS

Wendy

Wendy has been and remains a yoga student for the past 25 years and a teacher for almost 6 years. She did her yoga training both on the Gold Coast and in the US and is very passionate about the benefits yoga can bring to the mind, body, and soul.

Melinda began practicing yoga at a young age, inspired by family and her love for dancing. In 2021, while working in the mental health sector, she undertook a 200-hour trauma-informed yoga course to better support the communities she was working with. Melinda has now shared her love of yoga for over three years with a diversity of students including kids, aged care residents, not-for-profit communities, and corporate organisations. She has studied over 800 hours of yoga in Sydney and India, including Aerial Yoga, Hatha, Vinyasa Yin Yoga, Ashtanga, Chair Yoga, and Stand-Up Paddleboard Yoga. Melinda believes that the power of yoga can support others to recognise their inner strengths, manage discomfort, overcome personal fears, feel empowered, and importantly incorporate fun. Her teachings offer grounding, connection, expression, challenge, creativity, and playfulness.
