The returning officer will be available on campus in the 1888 building from 15th March 2024 till 18th April 2024 during the following times apart from public holidays:

  • Monday 1pm-5pm
  • Wednesday 1pm-5pm
  • Friday 1pm-5pm

As per electoral regulations 2.3 (e) the Returning Officer publishes the proposed penalties that will be imposed on candidates in relation to any breach of the Electoral Regulations by any campaigner or candidate, or groups of campaigners or candidates.  Penalties for 2024 elections can be found here.

Tribunal Members 

Powers of the Electoral Tribunal (Clause 13.5 of the constitution) 

The Electoral Tribunal has the power to: 

  • make Electoral Regulations for the conduct of elections; 
  • appoint a Returning Officer; 
  • call elections; 
  • hear appeals against the results of elections; 
  • hear appeals of decisions of the Returning Officer; 
  • declare results of elections; and 
  • make regulations governing its own proceedings.
