Brooke Masi

  • Representative Council: Education (Coursework) Officer Nominee

Students deserve to be heard, valued, and respected in the policies that shape their education. Coursework policies on grading, attendance, placements, and special considerations must reflect the real challenges that Master’s students face at the University of Melbourne- financial constraints, balancing rigorous study with work, adapting to a new country, safety, and mental health.

As a Master of Education student, I study coursework design, student support strategies, and policies that create fair and effective learning environments. Having studied in the US, Italy, and now Australia, I bring a broad perspective on the strengths and challenges of different education systems. I also have a professional background in sales and communication, so I know how to negotiate, be direct, and take action based on students’ priorities.

I will use this experience to advocate for stronger communication between students and faculty, ensuring that coursework policies are fair, transparent, and truly responsive to students’ needs both in and outside of the classroom.
