With a 30-year history, and as the largest dedicated postgraduate association in Australia, GSA plays a vital role in advocating for student interests, fostering cohesive communities, and delivering year-round events, programs, development opportunities, and support to the graduate student community.

Student Information Officer – Administration & Reception

  • Full time, fixed term position up to December 2025
  • Salary range: 3.1 plus super and salary packaging
  • Location: Melbourne University – Parkville Campus

About the role

In this role you will manage GSA’s key contact points, including the 1800 number, info email, reception desk, and general student services and events. You will ensure all student enquiries are documented, actioned, or appropriately referred in a timely manner. You will maintain a welcoming and functional reception space, support students using the 1888 Building, and ensure casual reception staff are effectively trained and supported. You will manage and update GSA’s membership and enquiry databases, and work closely with the Engagement,  Communications and Policy & Advocacy Team to promote GSA’s programs. You will also liaise with University of Melbourne stakeholders to support partnerships and communication efforts. In addition, you will assist with digital file management and provide administrative support to MSEC, including event coordination, evaluation, and other engagement activities.

About You

Our Ideal candidate will:

  • Completion of a relevant diploma-level or certificate qualification with experience, or an equivalent mix of training and experience.
  • Knowledge and understanding of good customer service practices
  • Knowledge and skills of Microsoft Office.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to relate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
