GSA Placement Student Forum

Organised and facilitated by GSA’s Education Coursework Officer, the GSA Placement Student Forum will be a monthly, cross-faculty gathering for graduate students undertaking placements. Members will need to have direct experience of undertaking placement as part of their graduate degree.

Each session will involve a core group of about 10 students and will provide a collaborative space for students to design solutions, develop resources, and advocate for better placement experiences across the University. 

Joining the GSA Placement Student Forum involves a commitment to attending (whether in-person or online) the monthly meetings that will take place in October and November, as well as into semester one in 2026. Key dates for these meetings include:
– 5:30 to 6:30pm on 20 October 2025
– 5:30 to 6:30pm on 17 November 2025

– Build practical leadership and advocacy skills by contributing to real actions that influence placement support
– Find a community and collaborate with peers across faculties to create strategies and resources that benefit current and future students
– Contribute directly to keeping placement issues on the University’s agenda, reinforcing the recommendations of the recent GSA placement report

GSA is also offering:
A $50 Coles voucher for each attendee (for each meeting that they attend) in recognition of their time and input
Catering will also be provided at each meeting
