Led by Murrup Barack staff, join us for a guided walking tour to learn about the Indigenous history of our campus.
***Please note – this is a ticketed event and registration is compulsory***
As one of the clans of the Kulin Nation, the Wurundjeri people of the Woiwurrung language group walked the grounds upon which the University now stands for more than 40,000 years.
Please join us for this special event as our colleagues from Murrup Barak take you on Billibellary’s Walk, named after the ngurungaeta (clan head) of the Wurundjeri people at the time of Melbourne’s settlement. It is designed to help participants hear the whispers and songs of the Wurundjeri people that lie within the University of Melbourne’s built environment.
Billibellary’s Walk is a cultural interpretation of the Parkville campus landscape that provides an experience of connection to country which Wurundjeri people continue to have both physically and spiritually. It will enable you to reflect on the University of Melbourne as an Aboriginal space and part of Wurundjeri country.
