Make new connections in a group setting with friends who will be with you throughout your time at Uni. Light dinner provided.

“GSA’s Speed friending: Group Edition” introduces you to new friends in a playful way.

Starting uni can be a little awkward—but meeting new people doesn’t have to be! Join us for a relaxed and upbeat speed friending session designed especially for postgrad students. With a fun mix of group-based social games, storytelling prompts, and icebreaker questions (ranging from hilarious to heartfelt), this event is all about making meaningful connections without the pressure.

Whether you’re new to Melbourne or just looking to grow your circle, this is a great chance to bond over shared interests, random facts, and a few good laughs. The GSA facilitator will guide the group through interactive activities that’ll have you opening up and feeling at ease in no time.

Come solo or bring a mate—by the end, you’ll have met a bunch of friendly faces and maybe even found a new coffee buddy, classmate, or lifelong friend.

🥳No awkward one-on-one convos – it’s all group fun!
