An update from the GSA President: July 2024
Dear Graduate Students,

Thank you for your participation in an extraordinary O-Week. We hope you had the opportunity to attend some of our events and connect with your fellow graduate students.

Following the successful launch of our Rental Toolkit, we are pleased to announce that a digital version is now available on our website. This resource is designed to assist those seeking accommodation in Victoria or managing their current rentals. From tips on how to secure a place to dealing with legal issues related to renting, the Rental Toolkit covers a wide range of common questions that students pose.

We are also delighted to present our 2024 Placement Report, meticulously prepared by our Education (Coursework) Officer, Will McHenry, in collaboration with our Policy & Advocacy Team. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to those who participated in the focus group and survey last year; your input has proven invaluable to both us and the entire student body across the university. Our advocacy efforts are ongoing, focusing on the key issues you’ve highlighted to ensure meaningful improvements and support for all students.

Lastly, it is my pleasure to cordially invite you to the GSA’s 30th Birthday Celebration on the evening of Friday, August 2nd. To commemorate this significant milestone, we have curated a compilation highlighting our organization’s journey, invited special guests to join us and much more. All students are warmly welcomed to attend. We look forward to celebrating with you.

As always, my door is open to all graduate students. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to email me at president@gsa.unimelb.edu.au.

Yours sincerely,

Ethan Chou
GSA President
