Join us as we explore the domestic factors influencing US foreign policy with a view to the 2024 Presidential Elections!
This event will examine how polarised discourse in the US shapes foreign policy decisions and perceptions of the US globally. The discussions will also reflect on the politics of AUKUS and Australia’s relationship with the US. MPIRO is committed to facilitating discussion about apposite topics in international affairs and believe any discussion pertaining to the US is particularly salient in the current geopolitical environment.

The discussion will be moderated by Professor Timothy Lynch with guest speakers Dr Emma Shortis of RMIT and the Australia Institute and Dr Zim Nwokora of Deakin University, who are both experts in the United States.
