Bridie Cochrane-Holley

Disability and Equity Officer

Hi there! I’m Bridie (she/her) and I am running for the Disability and Equity Officer role! As the previous GSA Health and Welfare Officer, I’ve had a specific interest in advocating for fellow disabled students. I was key in pushing for the very creation of the Disability and Equity Officer and was also the second-ever Disability Representative for the Law Students’ Society.

In both of these roles I’ve fought for disability to be given a dedicated and consistent seat at the table, and for the accessibility of events and communications to be improved. In this role, I would love to build a post-grad disability community through (more) therapy dogs, advocacy workshops, a buddy program, an equitable employers expo, and better recognition of carers. Further, I will fight to make Spec Con a more empathetic and equitable process. I know how tough it is to be a disabled student, and I know how far we have to go, so I will work hard to get us closer to where we need, and deserve, to be.
