GSA Mindful Mondays: Meditation & Breathwork

As part of Mindful Mondays, GSA is providing in-person Meditation & Breathwork classes for a limited time.

Start your week off right with some self-care and mindfulness. Unwind with a wholesome combination of guided meditation and breathwork exercises. Studies have shown that the practice of breathwork and meditation helps relive stress and anxiety and enhances focus.

No experience necessary, just bring yourself and an open mind.

Classes go for 30 minutes and is followed by an optional 15 minutes of relaxing time where participants can drink herbal tea provided by GSA, chat and connect with other participants.

**NOTE: These classes are only for Postgraduate students in UoM. Postgraduate status will be checked before class starts**

What to bring:

  • Yoga mat (Limited number of mats available on a first come first served basis)
  • Wear comfortable clothing
  • Bottle of water

About your Mindfulness instructor from MuSport:

Gayath is a multi-faceted individual who loves to sing, paint, cook, play many instruments, and loves sunsets! He is very friendly and outgoing and has a Bachelor degree in Exercise and Sport Science. With over 350 hours of experience in the field, he specialises in soft & deep tissue therapy, movement analysis, strength & conditioning, and mindfulness!

PLEASE NOTE: This event is only for Postgraduate students at the University of Melbourne. When you register on Eventbrite, please use your UoM student email. Orders made that do not include a UoM student email and ID may be cancelled.

Venue accessibility: accessible entry is via the courtyards of 1888 Building (back of building) and a lift is located next to reception on the ground floor (near the West courtyard entry). There is an all-gender accessible bathroom on Level 1.
