Be a Leader Today - Expression of Interest

Be a Leader Today - Expression of Interest

Join GSA graduate student leaders in a program to build leadership skills and engage with the graduate student community.

What will you learn from the program?
Be a Leader Today is designed to help build effective leadership. The program consists of three interactive workshops (three consecutive Thursdays) hosted by a group of trainers from Peer Camp. It includes discussion topics and group activities related to leadership engagement for participants. Participants will have the opportunity to practice important leadership skills such as: interpersonal and communication skills; identifying a clear purpose in leading a team; learning how to ask effective questions and observe others; understanding using emotion and logic when persuading; and how to maximise a group's capability and promote growth

When does it run?
This program will run across 3 weeks (every Thursday), on May 17, 24 and 31. It will be held from 4.30pm to 8.00pm, and includes dinner and drinks.
The venue is the 1888 Building, Parkville Campus.

What does it cost?
This program is free for GSA-affiliated graduate student leaders (grad group leaders, committee representatives, and council) and will cost $40 for other graduate students. The program normally costs over $300 and is heavily subsidised.

How will I be selected for the program?
Seats are limited for this program and the GSA Programs team will be assessing each expression of interest based on its merit, demonstrated interest in leadership, and with priority given to GSA-affiliated leaders. You will be notified by email of your expression of interest if we can find you a place in the program.
