WAM Win for Second Half of 2021

GSA strongly welcomes the University’s decision today to apply the ‘no-disadvantage’ Weighted Average Mark (WAM) policy to subjects in the second half of 2021. This is following sustained pressure from GSA and UMSU for the Academic Board to acknowledge the support and assurance coursework students need as students in Melbourne and International continue to face uncertain circumstances. This policy means that only grades higher than a student’s average will be included in their WAM calculation, there are a few exceptions so, please view this link for more information:

We will continue advocating for broader supports for students at this time. We also commit to listening to student experiences with this policy and its implementation, as well as exploring connected issues such as quality education and employability outcomes.
