The University agrees to revise WAM calculations

Tuesday 21 April 2020
GSA applauds the University’s decision to revise its Weighted Average Mark (WAM) calculations, as we have advocated for over the past month.
We also acknowledge the effort involved in devising the solution carefully, in a way that recognised exceptions and edge cases. It is positive that the new WAM arrangements are not a knee-jerk reaction. GSA appreciates that care has been taken, and we hope our own feedback and advocacy requesting such awareness of student needs has contributed to this positive outcome.
If you are a graduate student who feels that these measures fall short in recognising your unique situation, please do not hesitate to contact us. We will work with you to identify actions that can improve outcomes for you once again.
