Xinze Li International Officer
(she/her)
Hey there! I’m Xinze, an international student from Shandong, China, currently pursuing my Master of Environmental Science at the University of Melbourne.
As someone who has personally navigated the cross-cultural learning journey, I understand the unique opportunities and challenges we face while studying abroad. Adapting to a new environment, building social networks, balancing academics with life—these are experiences we share. These firsthand insights drive my passion as your International Officer, creating space for our collective voice.
My environmental science background has honed my ability to analyze issues from multiple perspectives, bringing a unique lens to representing our culturally diverse student community. Within the GSA Representative Council, I’m committed to fostering cultural exchange, advocating for equitable resource distribution, and breaking down barriers between international students and the local community.
This academic year, I plan to focus on: developing career resources specifically tailored for international students; improving transparency and accessibility of student accommodation information; organizing cross-cultural dialogue events to enhance understanding among students from different backgrounds; and strengthening international student participation in campus policy-making.
I believe our collective efforts can create a more inclusive and vibrant learning environment. Whether you’ve just arrived in Melbourne or have been here for a while, I’m eager to hear your stories and ideas. Let’s collaborate and shape our incredible journey at UniMelb together!
