Maitreyee Phadke

Hello, my name’s Maitreyee. I am running for the position of GSA Board Member because I am passionate about improving and expanding the facilities and opportunities offered to students of the University of Melbourne. As a member of the GSA, I will endeavour to improve the participation and interaction of students with their peers as well as all the facets of University life through various activities and events. Being an active member of the Students Council during my Bachelor’s Degree I feel I can comprehend this challenge better and make the most of this provided opportunity. Also, as an International student I feel I can bring in different perceptions to light and help my peers navigate better. I will always stand up for the women that need a voice to relegate their questions and concerns and will always be available for those who need my support and help at any point in time. Being a full time Graduate Coursework student has helped me understand the need to organize our time wisely and I hope that with this opportunity I can help my fellow Graduates realize the phrase ‘Carpe diem- Seize the Day!’.
