My name is Madeleine (she/her), and I’m a Master of Teaching (Secondary) student, running with Together alongside my experienced and passionate colleagues for Women’s Officer. I’ve served as the Education Officer for the Graduate Education Society, supporting student representatives and running our 2020 Graduate Teacher Conference. I’m also a representative on the Academic Programs Committee, where I’m proud to elevate student voices to the Chancellery regarding graduate courses, subjects and assessments. I would be proud to represent and support women and female-identifying graduate students as a feminist and friend. I’m concerned with ensuring that all university spaces are safe and welcoming for women, trans and non-binary folk and allies, that intersectional perspectives are elevated in university governance and academia, and that opportunities for women to network and participate across the university community are plentiful. If elected, I vow to listen, respect and take action on behalf of all graduate students where there is injustice or disparity. Regardless of student identity or course, we all deserve a safe, respectful and well-resourced learning environment which openly addresses the diverse needs of all. Vote 1 for Madeleine Charisis for Women’s Officer and Vote 1 Together: Progressive. Inclusive. Accountable.
