Georgia Harper

Families Officer

Hi everyone, I’m Georgia (She/Her)and I’m running for the GSA families officer position! I am a driven and hard-working second year student in the Doctor of Physiotherapy program. I would be honored to represent your voices as the Families Officer. We all deserve equal opportunity, and my goal is to ensure that all families are represented and provided with the resources that they need to thrive within our community. As a former volunteer at the Melbourne Indigenous Transition School (MITS), I understand how to enable remote and regional Indigenous Communities thrive. The Covid-19 pandemic has seen families separated, isolated and often without necessities and resources. More than ever our community needs to rally together as one to create real change. I aim to provide families with information about available services, resources as required and access to community facilities in a non-stigmatising manner. At 32 weeks pregnant myself I understand the importance of feeling supported and connected within a community and believe that I can represent and advocate for the needs of families. If elected, I will uphold myself with integrity, purpose, passion, commitment, honesty, empathy, and loyalty. Vote[1] for Bringing Students Together!
