Darshan Sukhadiya Architecture, Building and Planning

(he/him)

Darshan is a Master of Urban Planning student at the Melbourne School of Design, with a background in architecture and a strong commitment to inclusive, people-centered urban development. Having lived, studied, and worked across India and Australia, he brings a global perspective to local planning challenges, particularly around social equity and community resilience.

As a Faculty Council member, he is passionate about strengthening the connection between students, faculty, and university leadership. He advocates for diverse student voices and aims to help create academic spaces that are inclusive, accessible, and responsive to real needs. He believes that meaningful change begins with empathy, is sustained through open dialogue, and flourishes through collaborative action.

Beyond the classroom, he is a visual storyteller who uses illustration and design to communicate complex urban ideas. He enjoys exploring cities through the lens of their communities and sees the Faculty Council as a creative and collaborative platform to help build a more connected, empowered, and resilient graduate student experience.

Through his role, he hopes to foster lasting initiatives that champion student wellbeing, inclusivity, and collaboration across disciplines and campuses.
