I’m a Master of Teaching student in the Melbourne Graduate School of Education, and I am running with Left Action to fight for a GSA that puts graduate studentsÍ needs first in decision-making. I have been involved in left-wing activism for over 10 years, campaigning for climate action, womenÍs rights, freedom for refugees, and against racism and LGBTI oppression. As an undergraduate I was heavily involved in student activism at my university; I initiated a campaign against sexual violence on campus, was Environment & Social Justice Office Bearer in the MSA student union as well as Vice-President and Education Officer for the Biological Society and co-founded the community farm on campus. I am also a proud union member in my workplace. I am dedicated and passionate about student agency and voice, and as a GSA Board Member I will strive to increase student engagement and involvement in decisions that the GSA makes. I will fight to increase the GSA’s capacity to protect and enhance students’ rights and experience at university, whether it be threatened by the University’s management or from attacks by the government on higher education.
