An update from the GSA President: December 6th, 2024
I hope you’ve been enjoying the warmer weather and congratulations those who are graduating!
What an incredible year it has been for GSA! In 2024, we proudly implemented many recommendations from the 2023 Graduate Student Survey, focusing on cost-of-living support, health and wellbeing, and transition-to-work programs.
We introduced cultural events to celebrate the diversity of our graduate community and launched our first-ever Future Careers Expo. Our advocacy efforts targeted critical issues such as food insecurity, homelessness, stipends, safety, and graduate researcher workspaces.
We also strengthened our presence on regional campuses at Southbank, Werribee, and Burnley. We remain committed to representing graduate students in regional campuses, ensuring their voice is heard by the university. Additionally, we updated the Constitution and Electoral Regulations and introduced GSA’s first Environmental and Sustainability Plan.
Thank you for bringing your energy, ideas, and commitment to everything we do. GSA wouldn’t be the heart of graduate student life without you, the graduate students.
As the year wraps up, take a well-deserved break to enjoy the holidays with family and friends. You’ve earned it!
