Thursday 17th December 2020

As we reach the end of the year I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all graduate students on your hard work and resilience throughout a year like no other. The challenges faced in 2020 cannot be overstated, which included disruptions to research, rapid transition to online learning platform, isolation experienced being away from friends and family, health concerns and the economic hardship we experienced due to the pandemic.

Now is a great moment to reflect back on this year. Thank you to all the graduate students who engaged with GSA in record numbers this year Through collaboration and the support of stakeholders, council members and staff met and exceeded the goals we set as an organisation. I’d also like to thank all those who got involved in our events and activities year. The GSA Council along with the staff are incredibly confident that we will continue to deliver quality services in 2021 to meet the ongoing complex needs of graduates. Finally, I am truly appreciative of the work of student representatives and grad groups, whose work was and remains integral to our advocacy and representation.

I would like to wish everyone a very happy holiday season and a Merry Christmas. Enjoy the time to relax, reflect on the past year and connect with family and friends personally or virtually.

Be safe and see you all next year.
