Grad Groups Fourth Forum 

A big thank you to all who attended our fourth Grad Groups Forum held on Wednesday 20th October!

The Forum brought together 14 Grad Group leaders and eight GSA Board and Council Representatives for open discussion regarding common challenges and themes.

GSA recognises the active role Grad Groups plays in supporting graduate students.  We want to continue to support Grad Groups in providing their members with a positive student experience and help them stay engaged and connected.

Struggling with international members stuck overseas?

If you grad group has committee members or general members that are stuck overseas and you are worried about the survival or your committee or membership base please send us an email at to meet up to discuss some options with you.

Are you new to your committee position?

If you are new to your role or would like a refresh we would love to meet with you to discuss what GSA is all about, what the responsibilities of your role is, reporting, resources and funding available, how we can promote and collaborate with your grad group.  Catch up casually at one of our Drop In Session mentioned above or send us an email at to oragnise a meeting on zoom or in person.

Do you need assistance with admin and record keeping?

We have many resources for you to make use of – from templates for meetings, handovers, invoices checklists for events, risk assessments, membership lists and more HERE.

We have lots of guidances for you to make us of as well – from annual report templates, a Grad Group Handbook, logos, food handling pan templates, event management information and more HERE.

Do you need assistance with advocacy issues?

The Grad Group Event registration process remains the same since late March HERE. Please note:

  • There will be no annual funding reimbursements for non registered events.
  • Please submit your event two weeks prior to the date of event.  If you’ve missed the deadline please email us at
  • Check the Victorian Government sites (such as the Department of Health) for updates regarding the current situation.
  • Document attendees through contact tracing forms (we recommend you ticket your events and use digital versions of forms for easy access).

GSA’s processes and recommendations are in place to protect you and the community. Please stay safe and up to date with health guidelines.


In 2022 we are offering Grad Groups two streams of funding. Annual Funding and Special Grant funding. Please see the funding guidelines for more information.
