Faculty Council, Indigenous Officer and Families Officer elections
GSA’s new Constitution, adopted in 2020, provides leadership roles for 38 graduate students. While the provisional results for Board and Representative Council elections are already in (read more about them), the Faculty Council elections are about to begin. We’re pleased to announce nominations for the 20 Faculty Council positions will open this Friday 28 May at 9am.
In addition, we have two Representative Council positions also open for nominations this Friday 28 May at 9am:
- Families Officer
- Indigenous Officer
The Faculty Council serves as a subcommittee, advising the Board and Representative Council about service delivery, representation and policy work in their respective faculties. The Council is made up of two Members from each of the 10 faculties:
- Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning
- Faculty of Arts
- Faculty of Business and Economics
- Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology
- Faculty of Fine Arts and Music
- Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences
- Faculty of Science
- Faculty of Veterinary and Agricultural Sciences
- Melbourne Graduate School of Education
- Melbourne Law School
Key dates for Faculty Council, Indigenous Officer and Families Officer elections
Nominations: open 9am Friday 28 May 2021 and close at midday Friday 18 June 2021.
Candidate information session: 5.30pm Tuesday 22 June 2021
Voting: open 9am Wednesday 23 June 2021 and close midday Wednesday 7 July 2021.
Election results will be announced soon after the voting closes.

Information relating to the Faculty Council Election will be available online on Monday 31 May. Further information for Candidates running in the Election for either GSA Faculty Council, GSA Families Officer, or GSA Indigenous Officer will be also available online on Tuesday 22 June.
