Celebrate the power and achievements of three fabulous women, with GSA’s inspiring speaker event at the Gryphon Gallery, located in the 1888 Building (level 1).

Women in Tech is an empowering event where four remarkable women in the tech industry share their stories and achievements.

This event is a unique opportunity for students to gain inspiration, ask questions, and learn from the experiences of leading women in technology. Don’t miss out on this chance to connect, learn, and be inspired!

Forough Habibollahi

Forough is a postdoctoral research fellow and data scientist at Cortical Labs, a leading tech start-up in Melbourne. She combines living brain cells with computing devices to explore biological intelligence. Her journey began as an intern during her PhD, leading to a full-time role. Her research focuses on learning and intelligence in cortical cells within simulated environments, with interests in computational neuroscience and NeuroAI. She holds a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Melbourne Brain Centre and has a background in Bioelectronics and Bioengineering from Sharif University and EPFL, Switzerland.

Grainne Oates

Grainne is the founder of Quitch, an award-winning entrepreneur, and an Associate Professor at Swinburne University of Technology. She developed Quitch, a globally-used gamified mobile learning platform, to enhance remote learning. Grainne has been recognized among the Top 50 EdTech innovators in ANZ by Holon IQ and received the Australian Financial Review’s Education Technology Award. Renowned for her leadership in education and innovation, she continues to drive impactful change in the sector.

Lisa Teh

Lisa is unhealthily obsessed with all things digital. She is the founder of Mooning, a marketing agency focused on helping brands find success using Web3 and AI technology. She is also the Founder of Digital Marketing Company CODI Agency which specialises in social media management, content creation and influencer campaigns. She and the team have worked with global companies such as Uber Eats, Lenovo and L’Oreal. She is the co-Author of best-selling books Australian Style and Australian Beauty and is currently writing her third book featuring interviews with female entrepreneurs around the world. She was named in the 40 under 40 most influential Australians in 2021 and recognised as a LinkedIn Top Voice in 2022.

Helen Baker

Helen Baker is an Ed-Tech Entrepreneur who founded Xolvit to connect companies with students to address real-world challenges. Helen will share her inspiring life story and how she leveraged her experience in her corporate background and her advisory roles, all while juggling her family commitments, to bring about Xolvit.

Venue accessibility: accessible entry is via the courtyards of 1888 Building (back of building) and a lift is located next to reception on the ground floor (near the West courtyard entry). There is an all gender accessible bathroom on Level 1.
