What is Wear It Purple Day?

Wear it Purple strives to foster supportive, safe, empowering and inclusive environments for rainbow young people.

Founded in 2010 as a wake-up call to prevent bullying and harassment, WIP-Day stands out as a show of support for rainbow young people, championing the message that everybody has the right to be proud of who they are.

What’s the photo competition?

We’re giving out prizes for your #WearItPurple photo!

To enter, share a picture on Twitter or Instagram with the hashtags #WearItPurple and #GSA_UniMelb (it’s gotta have both hashtags), along with a relevant caption about standing with the LGBTIQA+ community – a positive message, wellbeing tip or words of support.

• During our morning tea from 11am–1pm, you can show us your finished post on your phone at the GSA desk to get a free lolly bag on the spot!
• One winner will be chosen to receive a $50 gift certificate for beloved bookshop Hares and Hyenas. The winner will be chosen on Monday 2 September.
