Selling your degree

Knowing the right people in professional contexts and being able to influence them is crucial to the transition from student to career professional. This workshop is designed to help graduate students develop the skills and confidence they will require to communicate their own value from degree to career. 

This 3 hour workshop will help you identify how your degree is relevant and attractive to future employers and in other professional contexts. You will participate in interactive exercises that will help you explore skills and attributes gained during your academic degree; and develop communication strategies and confidence to ‘sell’ these in real world contexts, such as job interviews and networking events.

This workshop is useful for students at any stage of their degree and is designed to be informative, practical and immediately useful in academic and professional context.

Key content and exercises:

• Identifying and communicating about hard and soft skills/attributes
• Developing strategies for transferring skills to professional contexts
• Reflection and feedback
