Science Month Talk: The future of space exploration in Australia

Ever dreamt of a career in the space industry? It’s not just for engineers and Astrophysicists, join us and learn how you could get involved!

Nate will discuss the role of the Australian Space Agency in global research, and the opportunity it presents for young professionals entering the space industry. He’s keen to answer all your questions about this exciting career path!

Nate is a graduate in Applied Physics and Mathematics from the University of South Australia, as well as an alumni of the International Space University. He works as a Senior Programs and Operations Officer at the Australian Space Agency’s Australian Space Discovery Centre and is a founding member of the ISU Australia and New Zealand Alumni Association. He hopes to use his position at the agency to contribute towards expanding and strengthening the Australian space industry whereby Australian influence on global space issues, technology, and exploration can be applied to the meaningful and significant utilization of space, both domestically and abroad.

The Australian Space Agency is a Government run organisation responsible for the development of Australia’s commercial space industry, coordinating domestic activities, identifying opportunities and facilitating international space engagement. Its Discovery Centre, located in Adelaide, aims to inspire the next generation of the space workforce with stories of innovation, curiosity and technology. It offers a place for the community to meet and explore the latest innovations in space technologies. This is where you can learn about Australia’s role in expanding national and international space activities.
