As part of GSA's Dance Exploration series, we'll bring different styles of dance for our students to learn, every fortnight. Time to dance!

Release your exam stress via the expressive dance style called ‘Lyrical’ in this SWOT VAC dance class from GSA.

Lyrical dance is a form that pulls inspiration from jazz, ballet, acrobatics and other techniques using lyrics from songs that allow a dancer to express strong emotions through dance moves. The beautiful and expressive choreography is a pleasure to watch and even more enjoyable to perform. The dancer performs the moves as though telling a story, much like the lyrics of a song. The style combines ballet techniques with the freedom and musicality of jazz and contemporary. The style is usually danced at a faster pace than ballet but not as fast as jazz.

The Dance Exploration series is all about celebrating different dance styles from around the world and helping you loosen up and release some stress. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced dancer, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Get ready to move and groove to the beat with our talented instructors.

*Registrations for classes open 2 weeks before each class. Limited places. Please only book if you can attend, so you give others the opportunity to attend.
