This GSA O-Week Special Event incorporates neon painting to ignite your creativity and produce a unique keepsake for yourself.
This Neon Painting Workshop is a unique and immersive event designed to unite graduate students from all faculties in a shared creative experience.
Hosted in the dyna mic and atmospheric Gryphon Gallery, this workshop invites students to create glowing works of art inspired by the interplay of light, sound, and imagination.
With neon paints that react brilliantly in the gallery’s dimly lit, high-ceilinged space and a custom-composed soundscape of meditative lo-fi and nature-inspired tones, appealing to students from diverse cohorts, this experience bridges the gap between art and science.
The neon paints not only evoke a scientific aesthetic— drawing parallels to concepts like energy, light, and creativity—but also highlight the spiritual essence of light, symbolising hope, connection, and inspiration. This two-hour workshop provides students with the opportunity to unwind, explore their creativity, and foster a sense of community and collaboration. By participating in this interactive session, students will build meaningful connections across disciplines, creating a vibrant and cohesive graduate student community.
When the lights dim, your creativity shines the brightest. This neon painting workshop is more than just art making, it’s a reminder that even in the darkest moments, you can find support, connection, and light through GSA. Let your imagination flow as you create vibrant, glowing artwork, and remember: you’re never alone. Together, we’ll illuminate challenges and turn them into opportunities to shine.
