Announcement of GSA Election 2021

The deadline on nominations for the Faculty Council, Families Officer and Indigenous Officer has been extended until midday Saturday 31 July, 2021.

GSA’s new Constitution, adopted in 2020, provides leadership roles for 38 graduate students. While the results for Board and Representative Council elections are already in (read more about them), the Faculty Council elections are about to begin. We’re pleased to announce nominations for the 20 Faculty Council positions opened Friday 28 May at 9am.

In addition, we have two Representative Council positions also open for nominations:

  • Families Officer
  • Indigenous Officer

The Faculty Council serves as a subcommittee, advising the Board and Representative Council about service delivery, representation and policy work in their respective faculties. The Council is made up of two Members from each of the 10 faculties:

  • Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences
  • Faculty of Science
  • Faculty of Veterinary and Agricultural Sciences
  • Melbourne Graduate School of Education
