Announcement of GSA General Election 2021

In June 2020 , GSA changed the Constitution which was unanimously supported by our membership. Further amendments were adapted in November 2020, to strengthen membership collaboration.  The new Constitution supports 38 Graduate Students to participate as Board members, Representative Council members or Faculty Council members, and engage in leadership roles across the organisation.  The GSA Board and Representative Council Members Elections will be held first on 29 April 2021 and the Faculty Council Members will be elected after the Annual General Meeting.

It is wonderful many graduates have proactively participated in GSA Events, Activities, Forums and Training in the last 12 months. We look forward to receiving many more nominations this year from graduates who want to be elected representatives – and we encourage all of you to vote.

GSA General Elections 2021 will be held on 29 April 2021 with nominations opening 23rd March 2021.

GSA General Elections are an exciting time to either elect (as a member) or nominate to be an elected representative of GSA Board Member, Representative Council Member or Faculty Council. This year 38 graduates will be provided an opportunity to lead and support GSA an independent association that provides all 29,000+ enrolled graduate students at the University of Melbourne with representation, events, training and support.

Rachna Muddagouni, GSA CEO, presented two information sessions about the election process. Catch a recording from the March 18 session below:

These information sessions provided an oversight on the entire General Election Process, Vacancies and how you can get involved.
