In 2020, GSA successfully advocated for several key policies at the University of Melbourne. GSA secured expanded Covid-19 leave and extended research timelines, addressed privacy concerns during support applications, and successfully advocated for financial assistance and technology support for students facing hardship.

GSA carries a strong vision for inclusive, empowered graduate student communities that achieve meaningful and holistic university experiences, and encourages continued involvement of students and representative bodies in shaping TEQSA guidance notes to ensure they meet students’ needs.
